The purpose of Scientific Workshops (SW) is to progress and disseminate knowledge concerning the principles, advances and applications of threat detection sciences through educational scientific events in topic areas such as contraband detection through explosives, illicit narcotics, chemicals, etc. The primary mission is to assist communications, research and development, and education of detection, thereby directly improving national and international homeland security. SW will provide continuity, advance planning, and a financing mechanism for carrying out annual workshops, conferences, symposiums and meetings.
