It is a pleasure to announce that the Scientific Workshops organization will soon be initiating a WebEx based monthly technical seminar series, “Scientific Workshops International Seminar Series (SWISS)”, for 2021.  SWISS is intended to fill the scientific exchange gap caused by COVID, and is not intended to replace the upcoming TED and CED workshops or the ISADE conference.   SWISS will occur for the foreseeable future until the COVID restrictions are lifted and we go back to in-person meetings.

The SWISS seminars will take place on the first Thursday of each month, from noon till 1PM EST.

We hope that this day and time is convenient for all participants.  A pre-notice, like this email, will be sent out in advance of the event to announce the speakers, chosen from either the Trace Detection, Bulk Detection or Trace Forensics areas.  The live, but virtual, WebEx presentations will be 20-25mins long, with 5-8 mins for QA and general discussions.

The first SWISS seminar will be on Thursday, April 1st 2021, from noon till 1pm EST.  Our first two speakers and topics will be:

    1. Danny Fisher, Israel Prime Minister’s Office, “Machine learning and other tricks as a potential way for a new understanding of ETD plasmagrams.”

    2. Erin Miller, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, “Gratings-based phase contrast imaging for explosives detection.”

More details will follow with the WebEx initiation/registration.

    • You must be approved to be on our contact listings. Use the link on the navigation menu at the top to join our mailing list. When approved, you will receive a confirmation message and be added to our contact lists.
